“Altschliff”  is a diamond cut, who’s cut shape was used prior to the now popular and much loved brilliant cut. The brilliant cut was developed in the year 1910. The roots of “Altschliff” reaches back to the 14th century. Prior to that date diamonds were only known in their natural octahedron form.
